I've been teaching or tutoring for over twenty years in some form or another. For me the reward from tutoring is when I see that a student has caught onto an idea, when the light bulb goes on. In my career I've not only studied physics, mathematics and statistics, but applied them as well as time management and study skills. I can help a student succeed in all these areas. I always focus on the student's needs, on helping the student deal with roadblocks that interfere with success. I work to suit my communication to the student's favored style. My career has included a PhD in Nuclear Physics, postdoctoral work in nuclear astrophysics and over twenty years of experience in everything from teaching, to doing physics to advising policy makers on technical topics at a national laboratory. Students should know that my focus is on teaching for mastery of a subject, I will only rarely teach to a test.
